What is Arm Lift ?

Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) is a surgical procedure performed to eliminate deformation problems that occur especially in the upper region of the arm, usually caused by lubrication and skin sagging.

The skin and subcutaneous tissue layer in the back and inner parts of the upper arm is looser than the other parts of the body.

The skin and subcutaneous tissue layer in this area deforms faster and loosens due to factors such as genetic reasons, frequent weight loss, age gain, and rapid weight loss after operations such as stomach reduction surgery.

While tightening can be achieved in the area with exercise and different applications at the initial stage, the intervention should be done with “Arm Lift” surgery in the later and more severe cases.

How Much Does an Arm Lift Surgery Cost?

Arm lift surgery prices vary according to the volume of the operation, whether the operation will be combined or singular, the location characteristics such as the province and district where the operation will be performed, the hotel service of the hospital and hospital, operating room expenses and similar factors.

On average, arm lift surgery is performed in the price range of 1000 dolar - 2000 dolar

How is Arm Lift Surgery Performed?

Arm lift surgery is performed in a hospital environment, under general anesthesia, in an average of 1 to 3 hours.
Before arm lift surgery, the density of the fat tissue in the arm area and the degree of skin sagging are determined. Arm stretching surgery is performed with 2 different incision methods.

If the excess skin lies on the transverse line, then the operation is performed with an incision made under the armpit, in this way, the scars of the arm lift surgery remain under the armpit and do not cause aesthetic problems.
If the excess skin lies on the longitudinal line, then the excess skin is removed with a longitudinal incision. In this case, it is inevitable that a scar will appear after arm lift surgery.
During arm lift surgery, if not only excess skin will be removed, but also the density of adipose tissue will be reduced, then with the liposuction method, first the fat is drained and then the excess skin is removed.
Arm lift surgery begins with an elliptical incision in the sagging area on the inside and back of the arm. After removing the excess skin and excess fat tissue, the arm incision is sutured from the inside in two lines.

After arm lift surgery, a drain is usually placed to collect blood and body fluids that may occur inside. The drain is removed after 24-48 hours.

After arm lift surgery, the person is usually discharged the next day after staying in the hospital for one night. In some cases, this period may take up to 2 days depending on the size of the surgery.

What is the Recovery Process After Arm Lift Surgery?

After arm lift surgery, a bandage is wrapped in order to reduce swelling, edema and bleeding that may occur in the operation area. After an average of 3 days, the bandage is removed and the arm corset is applied for 3 weeks.
After arm lift surgery, complaints of pain and tension may occur. Pain disappears in a few days, during this process, appropriate painkillers will be recommended by your doctor.
The use of antibiotics after arm lift surgery will be prescribed by the doctor.
Resting at home is recommended for the first week after arm lift surgery. Keeping the arm elevated during this process will help reduce complaints.
After arm lift surgery; In the first week, you can take a half shower that will not wet the operation area, and from the second week, you can take a full shower.
Stitches heal on the 10th day after arm lift surgery. Generally, there is no need to remove the stitches as dissolving stitches are used.
During the recovery period after arm lift surgery, the person can return to their daily activities at the end of the first week. However, sports activities, heavy exercises or heavy work that will force the arm should be avoided for the first 1 month.

Is Non-Surgical Arm Lift Possible?

Non-surgical arm lift can be done with the help of some devices that work with plasma or radiofrequency energy.

These devices use either pressurized argon gas or plasma to direct radiofrequency energy into a hollow cannula.

Moved in a similar way to a liposuction cannula, the device accesses small sections of the subcutaneous collagen matrix.

This heat causes the collagen to contract strongly within fractions of a second, reducing the fiber length by 40-50%, resulting in tightening in the area where it is applied.

Skin tone continues to improve over a year as new collagen develops within the tissue. Studies show that the treatment can produce up to 36% measured skin surface area contraction.
