The Regret Bella Hadid Felt After Having a Rhinoplasty
Bella Hadid, who has been following the masses since she started her career in 2014, is one of the highest paid models in the world and currently has 50.2 million followers on Instagram.
Her life is under the spotlight, as with all talented and beautiful women, and Hadid's appearance has been the subject of plastic surgery speculation over the years.
She specifically denied that she had operations such as rhinoplasty, cantoplasty and noninvasive fox-eye, but she denied that she was afraid of plastic surgery in every statement she gave.
She Was Just 14 Years Old
In the cover story of the April issue of Vogue, Hadid talked about her lifelong struggles with mental health, body image, and the regret she felt after having a rhinoplasty when she was just 14 years old.
In the interview, Hadid detailed her depression and her struggle with Lyme disease. She acknowledges the irony of success in her chosen career and tells the broadcast:
“Always ask myself, how did a girl with incredible insecurities, anxiety, depression, body-image issues, eating issues, who hates to be touched, who has intense social anxiety—what was I doing getting into this business?”
Ugly Big Sister
Hadid said she always felt like the "ugly big sister" when compared to her older sister, supermodel Gigi Hadid, who was blonde and popular at school.
As a teenager, she wanted to experience a change in her appearance and said she had a rhinoplasty when she was just 14 years old. She now admits she wished she hadn't done it.
“I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors”
“I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors,” says Hadid, who is half-Palestinian and added: “I think I would have grown into it.”
Rhinoplasty is one of the most popular surgeries among 13- to 19-year-olds, but Hadid's experience is a cautionary tale that you need to be a little older to go under the knife.
