How Are Google Ad Campaigns Made?

To create an Ad Campaign, you must first select a campaign type. You can choose from these:

  • Discovery: Ads in online feeds

  • Shopping: Ads for your products on Google

  • Video: video-based ads on YouTube

  • Smart: simplified, clear campaign

  • App: App promotions using multiple channels

  • Local: Using location to advertise across multiple channels

Medical apps will likely want to choose from search, discovery, native or display ad campaigns.

After choosing your campaign type, you need to create one or more Ad Groups. Each Ad Group can contain multiple ads. You can assign an Ad Group one or more keywords that will later be applied to all of its ads.

You will also need to design your ads. Depending on the type of campaign, you will need images or text.

When choosing your keywords, Google will ask you what kind of match you want to choose. You can choose from 4 types:

  • Broad Match Modifier (BMM)
  • Broad

  • Exact

  • Phrase

The match type determines how narrow the search terms are. If you select an exact match for "Rinoplasty Istanbul", your ad will only open when the patient uses that term. However, other matches allow misspelled searches.

BMM may also result in irrelevant search results. You can choose negative keywords that you don't want to redirect to your page. More often than not, “plastic surgeons sue”, “failed surgery” etc.

Don't forget to set your region for your ad campaign. Some plastic surgeons want to target their area, while others want to attract patients from other cities.

The final step in an Ad Campaign is to choose your landing page. The landing page is the first page a patient sees after clicking an ad.

This is their first impression, and if you choose it right, it will turn a potential patient into a paid patient.

Choose your landing page based on the ad. Have your ad go to your Rhinoplasty Services page if someone searches for "rhinoplasty Istanbul".

Of course, you don't have to just choose one or the other. Some plastic surgeons may use SEO techniques, but may also use PPC to make sure they get as many clicks as possible.
