Is Fibroblast The Right Treatment For Me?
What exactly do you know about stem cell treatments, which are among the most popular cosmetic treatments of recent years?
We know you are very confused. The difference between each treatment, the advantages it provides, what they are used for, Physician Sevgi Ekiyor MD :
“It is useful to look at the issue from a broad perspective. When stem cell anti-aging or anti-aging skin treatments are mentioned, a type of cell called fibroblast appears in the lead role.
What is Fibroblast?
Fibroblast is a type of cell that synthesizes collagen and elastin, which keeps the skin strong and moist. These cells form part of the connective tissues that increase skin elasticity.
In order to understand the fibroblast and its function a little more, it is useful to look at what is happening in the subcutaneous tissue. Human skin consists of layers of epidermis, dermis, and subcutis.
We can call the epidermis the upper layer and the dermis the middle layer. The dermis layer is actually composed of 2 types of protein, collagen and elastin, which make the skin strong, flexible, tight and beautiful.
Within the aging process that every living thing will inevitably experience over time, these 2 important protein types begin to decrease.
This situation, which causes wrinkles and sagging, occurs exactly in the dermis layer. Of course, not only the aging process, but also what and how the skin is exposed to is a factor affecting this process.
Here the fibroblast directly stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. FibroPlus, FibroGel aka FibroCell treatments, which we wrote in the title, is a form of treatment that includes fibroblast cells ready for injection.
Fibroblast and Treatment Areas
The fibroblast is injected into the dermis in the targeted area. It is mostly applied to the nasolabial folds, corners of the mouth, around the eyes, and forehead, where signs of aging are most commonly observed.
In summary, it can be used to remove wrinkles on the face, plump the lips, burn scars, depressed scars due to previous surgery or trauma, skin regeneration, depressed scars after acne or chickenpox, chronic wounds and even hair loss.
Fibroblast Age Range
The 30-45 age range is considered the most suitable time for fibroblast injections.
Of course, it can also be applied over the age of 45, but the duration of effect may be shorter compared to the other group. We can increase the number of sessions in this age group.
Apart from this, it can be applied to any patient with acne and scars, regardless of age.
FibroCell treatments without side effects are produced using autologous stem cells. Autologous serums are used in the development of cells.
How is Fibroblast Produced?
Now let's take a look at how fibroblasts are produced and the application process.
First of all, your doctor takes a tiny piece of tissue, called punch biopsy or excisional biopsy, for a piece of tissue of approximately 2x4 mm from the back of the ear or the inner surface of the arm, which does not have dense hair follicles and has not been exposed to excessive sun.
Then, some of your blood is taken and delivered to the laboratory in a protected way.
The skin biopsy, which reaches the skin biopsy within 12 hours at the latest, is isolated under sterile conditions and the autologous media obtained from the person's serum, namely the blood, is added to the PRP and left for incubation.
It is worth noting that. Since stem cell culture is obtained from the person's own tissue and blood, the products must be studied and stored in GMP standards and laboratories equipped with GMP equipment.
After The Treatment
Fibroblast is a method in which PRP obtained from the patient's own blood, which is obtained from the patient's own cells and reverses the effects of time, and autologous fibroblast cellular therapy are used together.
The FibroCell causative compound is a living fibroblast grown under cell culture conditions that allows autologous use.
Fibroblast is a connective tissue cell and they synthesize collagen and other intercellular media components.
The filler is prepared by combining fibroblasts with plasmagel and making an injection. You can think of it as a kind of filling prepared from your own tissue.
When the desired cell density of 25-30x10^6 is reached at the end of FibroCell 6 weeks, an injector (min 4cc) of fibroblast cells is prepared and packaged in the sterile area. It is delivered to the doctor by cold chain.
After the treatment, the patient can continue his/her daily life. There are no complaints of pain as severe as in alternative treatments.
It is not recommended to wear make-up, not to enter the sauna/hammam during the day of the treatment, and to expose the area to direct sunlight for 15 days.
