Erman Ak, MD

After graduating with honors from the university, Dr. Erman Ak attended many congresses throughout his education life. During his assistantship, he participated in many cases such as congenital hand anomalies and nerve transfers in the department where hand surgery is performed intensively and signed many successful microsurgery cases. He also performed many successful cleft lip and palate, congenital anomalies, and maxillofacial surgery operations. These studies by Dr. He helped Erman Ak create his own concept in facial surgery.

He made an oral presentation at the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery congress held in Bologna in 2019, where he explained his experiences with 'LOWER flaps'. He completed his specialization by presenting the thesis "Investigation of the Morbidity of the Donor Area After Latissimus Dorsi Muscle Flaps" and became a Plastic Surgeon Specialist.

He accompanied the establishment of the plastic surgery department of Başakşehir Çam and Sakura Hospital and served as the head of the department for a long time. He successfully performed the first foot and jaw bone transplant operation in the department.

In 2022, he conducted advanced studies on facial and breast aesthetics for 3 months as an ISAPS fellow with Prof Dr Giovanni Botti and Chiara Bottiile at Villa Bella Clinic in Italy.

Continuing his international scientific career, following his achievements in this field, Dr. Erman Ak was awarded the European Union aesthetic plastic surgery qualification by the European Board of Plastic Surgery (EBOPRAS) in 2021.
